2024: Peloris celebrates 10 years of uninterrupted fresh milk delivery to China

Coffs Harbour business, Peloris Global Sourcing, has marked a significant milestone, celebrating 10 years of continuous fresh milk deliveries to China.

Member for Coffs Harbour and Deputy Leader of the NSW Nationals, Gurmesh Singh, congratulated the company on this outstanding achievement.

“Over the past decade, Peloris Global Sourcing has delivered more than eight million litres of high-quality Australian fresh milk to satisfy the increasing demand among Chinese consumers,” Mr Singh said.

“This accomplishment is particularly remarkable considering that fresh milk is classified as a high-risk food category in China. Peloris has maintained uninterrupted weekly shipments, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, and achieved zero cold chain non-compliance.

“Food health and safety are critical concerns for both Chinese regulatory authorities and consumers. By ensuring high levels of traceability and transparency from farm gate to shelf, Peloris has built market confidence and trust in the provenance, quality, and consistency of Australian fresh milk.”

Mr Singh highlighted the bespoke systems implemented by Peloris, which include export preparation, clearance protocols, and the capability to track the location and temperature of every delivery. These measures ensure full accountability, crucial for both the Chinese government and consumers.

“I am incredibly proud that a local business has managed to significantly elevate Australian agri-business on the map in China. This success is a testament to the robust logistics and quality control measures in place and the dedication of Peloris’ teams in Australia and China, working together to deliver a seamless gate-to-shelf export experience for Australian food producers and Chinese customers,” Mr Singh said.

Peloris Managing Director, Peter Verry, noted that his team collaborated closely with the General Administration of Customs China (GACC) to develop China’s first fresh milk Fastlane clearance pilot.

Currently, Peloris is one of only three importers globally accredited by GACC Shanghai for the fresh milk Fastlane program, reducing import clearance times to under 24 hours.
